CV: Tomislav (Tom) Hengl, GSIF project leader, is a senior research at ISRIC with core expertise in soil mapping and big data analytics. Tom has a MSc in Soil Information / soil mapping and a PhD in pedometrics and over 18 years of experience in research and development of methods connected with soil mapping. Tom is the main moderator of the GEOSTAT Summer Schools on spatio-temporal analysis in R and open source GIS. He has edited a DEM data processing manual, an open access book on geostatistical mapping, and an open access book on scientific writing. Before coming to ISRIC he worked at, ITC, Enschede, University of Osijek in Croatia, JRC Ispra, Italy, and University of Amsterdam.
